Now Up, by yourself saying this... (ie, look up 'workbookA' this time, then [based on calculations] look up 'worksheetX'
Firstly: i take is when you said workbookA you actually meant wooksheetA, rather than a whole new file altogether?
Secondly, "based on calculations" sounds like you need to know an amount then with that amount use it to look up on worksheetX. If so, you may need to also include an "=if" function or else use "=vlookup" within itself.
Before going on, is this correct in what I'm thinking?
Also might need to know exactly what your trying to achieve from this formula too, try make it in detail. As eg:
Type in your formula then underneath it place the formula but this time with the figures in the corresponding arguments. Just so i get an idea of what you what.
Eg:
=sum(A1..A10)*sum(15-A9)
=sum(121)*(10) = 1210
