You overlook the twofold process of conviction: psychological needs and wants, which can and do drive a variety of biases....and objective information that proves the reality of the objects and events of the world.
A tree, for instance, remains an object, doing whatever it does, regardless of what you, me or anyone else believes about it. What you believe has no effect on the object. It is oblivious of your beliefs.
