If I recall correctly, when Hardman Resources struck oil in the Chinguetti field, offshore Mauritania, the announcement produced a similar selloff. I phoned my broker then to tell him to sell; it took him some time to convince me that the news was good, in fact very good.
It would appear that similar forces are acting here.
