    'Saw this in a merger market Australasia email I received today. Points out CTS as a possible to target post drilling and resource update

    Main body : Contact Uranium, the listed Australian metals explorer, could be a takeover play in two years' time, said a company source. He said the company was focusing on carrying out a drilling program at its uranium projects and aiming to increase the inventory at its projects. He said that the market was waiting for the company to come out with its annual report and drilling results. He also said that the company is planning to invest a fair bit of money in the ground for future exploration and drilling at the Corachapi uranium project in Peru is commencing from this month. He said that once all these developments take place other companies may start taking note of Contact for a potential takeover.
    An analyst report also mentioned that Contact's Corachapi Project has no overburden, low capital and operating costs and the potential capability of being developed in a short period of time.
    The company's shareholders have also recently approved a change in company name from Contact Resources to Contact Uranium. The source said that this change has been made to focus the company's activities on uranium and move away from the company's earlier base and gold metals orientation. He said that while the two uranium projects in Peru and Kyrgyzstan are core to the company, the Board is currently reviewing several strategies for its non core assets so that it that the shareholders can realize the best benefits from those assets. He did not rule out a spin off in the form of an IPO or a potential disposal of the company's non core assets. The source also said that the company is in the process of valuing its assets and should have a definite valuation of these assets and their future course in six weeks time. He declined to comment further.
    The company's non-uranium projects are the Parry Range Project, Collurabbie Project, Fallows Field and Dome, Mount Cotton Project, Coobina Chromite and the Bates Nickel Project-all of these are located in Australia. Contact Uranium has a market cap of approximately AUD 30m (USD 25m).
