Looking at South Africa's production figures from June and China's imports from the country from July, I'm thinking Tshipi made a handsome profit in these two months. Keep in mind that prices are set a month or two in advance and don't necessarily reflect spot rates - the offers from Tshipi were $6/mtu in June and $4.95/mtu in July.

"Tshipi’s South African semi-carbonate manganese ore with 36% Mn, for July delivery to China, was offered at $4.95/mtu, down $1.05/mtu month on month."
