Auag, I agree with your point that "public companies need to meet their projections."
If there are known issues at the time, sometimes beyond a company's ability to solve, which may affect projections, such as requiring a major upgrade to the underground power supply, then that should be be mentioned at the time of making a projection.
I believe it is better to underpromise and over deliver.
