BB, Can't fault your analysis on arithmetic basis. Even agree with your logic. Also any US$ based income is affected by exchange rate, granted. As a relative newcomer (me that is), let me run this by you; Surely in the case of a takeover, shareholders must agree on the amount they'll accept for their stock (or at least 90% must). What ever the offer is, it'll be expressed in $A, not US$, irrespective of the originating currency, and given consideration in $A. Any TO of any company with ASX listing irrespective of global listing, is by nature calculated on that basis. If an offer were to be made at say $US20/$A17 or whatever (assuming above parity $A), It'll be accepted/rejected on its local investment merits would it not? If you're simply suggesting that the above currency scenario puts pressure on a foreign offer I'm with you all the way.

    Cheers
