I have been trying to get my head around this concept?

It certainly achieves more rounds without having a longer barrel, but in a wya it effectively achieves similar to having a longer barrel as well I believe? Hmmm that is sort of interesting!

Firestorm would benifit from this although it will require a modification to the existing weapon, one where a larger diameter breech is used, but still with the same diameter barrel, but Firestorm definately needs at least medium velocity in my opinion to be fully effective!

Anyway in one way it proves that BAE are working on metalstorm high pressure high velocity rounds, whether it be for the AICW or whatever, they have added value to the concept I believe, hence their patent, but it is using metalstorm technology, only a different variation of it, whether it actually gets used is something else to look forward to in the near future.

By the way the other application with Locheed Martin seems to be related to underwater weapons, Hypervelocity, supercavitating, is my take on it!
