It's been an interesting journey, hasn't it ? You, me and a handful of others have been following the ev progress on here and despite all the negativity, evs have moved forward in leaps and bounds. Particularly in the last 2 years. Imagine what the next 10 is going to be like ?
Important note. The Tesla ute is being released/announced to the world on Nov 21. 2 days ( US time ) away. I expect this to be yet another game changer for the ev world.
I think we are at an important point right now. It has been conclusively proven that evs can do the job for the vast majority of motorists. The concept has been well and truly confirmed.
But it's from now, where things are about to step up significantly I believe. The technology that has been holding evs back a bit is batteries, or energy storage. Coincidentally, it is the same thing that has been holding back renewable energy generation for the grid. We have reached a point where those two industries are about to converge thanks to the need for better energy storage of all types.
Happily, the volume is about to be turned up to 11.
There have been many recent announcements about various new battery technologies but it's about the increase in the amount of money going into those developments that is the key change for mine.
