That's nothing new. Taxes from fuel excise has been dropping for years around the world . All because of the efficiency of modern vehicles. Governments have been working on this problem for a long time. More than 5 years with the RACV in Victoria that I'm aware of. Well before evs were considered to be a thing.
I'm all for it . A user pays system is much fairer and more sensible. Don't use it, don't pay. Simples.
