VIRGIN Australia has intensified its push to gain more government business with increased services between Sydney and Canberra and an offer of free evening drinks and nibblies.

The airline will brand its services to the nation's capital as "Canberra Connect" as it moves to take on Qantas, increasing frequency on the Sydney-Canberra route to up to 10 return flights a day.
