Reviewing the recently updated website of 4DS provides some interesting insights...

Firstly it is clear that the audience is shifting from investors to potential takeover acquirers.

Secondly, it is clear that 4DS has now begun to position itself for specific applications / fields.

4DS is setting itself up for applications closer to the DRAM space rather than the NAND space, within the storage class memory field.

"As data processing and storage needs continue their rapid increase for mobile devices and cloud data centers, the industry needs a new non-volatile memory with attributes much closer to DRAM (because it is impossible to replace) than to NAND Flash (because it does not need to be replaced)."

4DS is now sufficiently advanced to have selected it's targets: it is looking at applications in mobile devices and cloud data centres.

"4DS is pioneering Interface Switching ReRAM, a unique area-based ReRAM technology best positioned for Storage Class Memory in mobile devices and cloud data centers."

So, where to from here? Well beyond the late September announcement regarding production of the megabit chip, what we really want to hear is testing results. Without results, the product will be worth 0.

The announcement following the late September announcement will be a big one. Where 4DS has collected statistical significant data for yield, speed, endurance and retention at the megabit chip level that high-density high-volume memory makers & buyers need know to make informed decisions.

If we are lucky, this information will be released in the September announcement and the chip will be handed out to potential buyers for further evaluation...

I'm not going to consider selling 4DS until the price hits at least $250m AUD market cap (25 cents).
