There have been no "commercial discoveries" and there are assessed legitimate reasons for this. Most of the wells drilled previously we're drilled off structure and on limited seismic. There have been hydrocarbon shows and some flows of gas to surface however at the time these were uneconomic. Further to this when these wells were drilled, oil was 1/10th of the price, and gas monetisation in such an area would not have even been considered.
