"The Treasury documents released at 10pm by the independents"

First, why are the Coalition's 'costed' estimates being released by the independents in the first place?

I would think that the proper way to do this is to first release them to the Coalition, ask why there is such a big difference in the numbers, attach the disagreement from the Coalition, and then have the Treasury release them.

The way it was done stinks.

Second, the Treasury appears to have applied different standards to the labor government's 'costings' and the Coalition's 'costings' and are comparing rotten apples on the labor government's side to ripe peaches on the Coalition's.

After Treasury's farce with the Henry Tax review and the mining tax calculation fiasco I wouldn't trust them to be accurate with either sides' estimates.
