    Invertedva,

    I read something recently that said gas long term wont be a solution for Victoria's energy needs. The only way to guarantee long term gas is via WA - which is very expensive and with Peak Oil approaching, gas will trend with it. Bit risky for ALL Vics needs.

    In the case of TruEnergy - maybe they will be the front runner to grab the gas niche market.

    Brown coal here and elsewhere will be burned because its SOOO cheap/abundant/reliable - nothing can compete with an in situ lignite resource. In wealthy Victoria it will be burned long into the future - and how much more so in poor India/China.

    They ALL need to clean lignite up as PART of the solution.

    Below is not the article I was referring to , but it says similar :

    twenty (20) year horizon is as far as known and probable reserves can be predicted."
