Check out the all time chart for CSL or COH... these healthcare growth stocks can grow for many many years. If biota can keep getting drugs to market then I don't see why they can't become a multi-billion dollar company.

Port, CSL or COH chart has as much relevance to BTA as the charts of failed want-to-be Biotech such as CMQ. Your statement is predicated on the condition BTA can keep getting drugs to market. On this score alone, the most relevant share price chart is OEC (Orbital Engine Corporation) reflecting the quality and ability of its then CEO Peter Cook bringing the product to market – see the sp chart for yourself.

Has Peter Cook improved since jumping ship from OEC to BTA? What drugs have Peter Cook brought to market for BTA? Since Peter Molloy launched the LANI partnership with Daichi-Sankyo Peter Cook has done ZILCH with LANI in ROW except claim credit for the DS success. This issue had been well articulated by the thread started by Moreld. Readers can also read some of the Peter Cook apologists simplistic views like ”I am suprised Moreld brings this up in his post as he has been a follower of Biota for some time”. Read the whole thread for additional information:

There were many discussions in regard to BTA sp charts, some spanning the years when Relenza was first brought to market and some spaning the Avian Flu outbreak years.

There are differing factors for consideration when analysing the charts, some of which are:
    1) the length of time left in the Relenza patents – there are many postings on this including the good post by Port on the extension to the Japanese patent which at the time of his post, Peter Cook failed to inform the market and in fact had misled the market with the wrong information.

    2) Pandemic stockpiling market did not exist in the 90’s and in fact this has now become the single largest market for antivirals.

    3) LANI is scheduled for registration in Japan in the first Q of 2010. (But take note of the patent life left for LANI)

    4) LANI partnership for ROW

    5) BTA’s management led by Peter Cook – he is not fit to run a corner store and IMHO the single biggest impediment to BTA achieving its true value.
