Documented logic and reason can be examined by others to challenge conclusions in an effort to where necessary improve the quality of the conclusions. If just faith is used I don't see the opportunity for similar challenges.
Agree, with much of what you said, Faith can also be expressed and challenged like it's done here, then using reason and logic to reach the right conclusion.
Much of Christian teaching was also challenged through out the ages by heresies after reflection and bouncing of the bible, traditions etc using logic and reason dogmas came about.
