I always thought eqx were of the impression that they would buy aki at some stage, done by blackrock who keep buying aki on market...and do a deal with Cape Lambert.
AKI have a concessional area for their port, if they used eqx port access, they wouldn't need to spend the $$$$ if the port could manage 10 mill p/a, this may be what our MD means by synergies of projects.
This may have changed, as eqx are an explorer not acquirer, and have enough to worry about in getting their own project up and aki may just prove too expensive to try and buy.
Only my opinion...With sdl needing billions to even get rail..both these comapnies make a compelling story and amazing value.
