I'm an expat living OS. While i do have concerns for the property market, I do have to admit, the slide in the Aussie has made my life so much easier. It felt like crying every time i sent money home. Now that i have a near 30% pay rise (due to the $) and rates are decreasing (double bonus), my life has become a lot easier. Maybe there are a lot of cashed up expats who have just been saving their money waiting for the $$$ to drop. Obviously the share market might be on the nose to them. They have to put their hard earned somewhere. Maybe the bad PR of the market has scared them into good old bricks and mortar.
