    It can be treated, but given the wide range of 'potions' by different E&Ps it may take more treatment cycles for one cos. frac water vs. another.

    It most probably should not be pumped directly into streams, or used in crop fields unless it has undergone certified treatment. I also suppose an operator like HAL might re-use (and re-fortify) the fluid for several different frac jobs, but that's just a guess.
