You guys haven't been around long have you? Small company MDs often spend time talking to investors etc, in fact, its part of their job. Owen Hegarty at OXR used to have time in the early days as did Andrew Forrest of FMG fame.
This is far from uncommon and presents no concerns to me at all.
Also if someone asks AD if there is an update coming and AD replies that there will be one next week, there is also nothing wrong with that as long as he doesn't speculate what the contents may be in a positive or negative light.
Some of you are really nit-picking and creating mole hills out of nothing.
Keep up the communication AD, would make life alot easier for investors if there were more like you in the communication stakes.
