There are hoops both at the State and Federal levels that you would need to jump through in Australia before you can mine uranium. It would take at least 5 to 10 years depending on where you are. SA, NT no problem. QLD and WA forget about it, things are not going to change there any time soon.
Australia has almost half of the worlds uranium. Australia has low sovereign risk. Sure you can mine in Africa or Kazakhstan, but for how long??
Energy security is about certainty of supply and quality. From that perspective Australia is in the box seat. If you quote the Premier of South Australia, “ SA has the opportunity to become the Saudi Arabia of the nuclear energy world”
