Expectations - What happened over at Sandfire

This is intended to help flow into Ozb's questions and discussions about what to expect, and what ppl want, in the hope that some on here don't give their shares away too cheaply.

The anecdote of what happened at SFR, for example, is purely to illustrate how the 'market' can react and push prices when they finally pick up something and run it near to it's true value. The following is taken from charts and some reading of the historical events, not an intimate knowledge or in-depth review of ann's over time.

In May 2009 SFR drilled into massive sulphides, uncovering the start of a system of what would turn into a huge area of copper, gold and silver, and eventually turning into a very profitable mine.

A month prior in April shares traded in the 7-10c range, spiking in May after first drill hits to the 50-60c range, but volatile. As the next 2mths rolled on they uncovered similar nearby drill hits to build a large total tenement of deposits, and by late July the share price spiked to around $2.50.

Plenty more happened through to October 2010, and the SP was up at the $8 range - but basically a huge resource, that kept growing and growing, and eventually ASX 200 inclusion by Oct 2010. That all prior to PFS, DFS, finance, mine construction etc etc.

So that's 7c odd up to $2.50 odd from Apr-July 2009 (inclusive).
Apr 2009 - Oct 2010 >>> 7c odd to $8 odd.

Bottom line - do not underestimate how far and hard the market can take things.
