a willing slave is one who does the will of the Master,

Taughtbuffet, that raises the question then 'Who are the domestics that the slave is to feed?' And 'When & how did the slave receive the appointment?' How were they to be fed?
These are important things needing to be understood considering this was included in Jesus' answer regarding the time in which we are now living. Matt 24:3.
(Matthew 24:45) “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
Note the humility of an Ethiopian diplomat when asked did he understand the Scriptures.
He did not simply say 'Yep, I've got all 613 laws written down, that's all I'm ever going to need!
(Acts 8:31) He said: “Really, how could I ever do so unless someone guided me?” So he urged Philip to get on and sit down with him.
Philip was acting on Jesus instructions as was Paul and many others without the help of which none could gain accurate knowledge in order to be saved. 1 Tim 2:3,4.
