By market cap and current trading volumes I’m highly confident we will be added to the ASX 200 come September.
The rebaseline will be expected 5 September. Addition to the ASX 200 will mean even more index fund managers will be buying DRO and we will start to see sustained increased passive flows both in and out.
7 weeks to go but all signs suggest this will be a highly likely outcome. It does also however, increase the availability of short interest as hedge funds wanting to take a short position have an increased pool of index fund managers they can reach out to for the facilitation of borrowing shares. This is not hugely different to being added to the ASX300 where we had sufficient availability to short over 10% earlier this year.
