I believe the Frontier rig 11 will be used to spud and drill SOA#2, as this rig is equipped with top drive and has 1,000 horse power.
Here is what SSN said in a recent ann
“The second contract, for Frontier Rig 11 is a single well contract. This rig is currently being used to drill Spirit of America II in our Hawk Springs Project in Goshen County, Wyoming. The rig is a 1,000 horse-power, diesel electric rig equipped with a top drive. This well is expected to cost approximately $4 million, including the cost of the rig.”
Without delays or break downs I would expect the drilling depth at this stage to be getting very close to the level where it was unable to penetrate last time at 9,000 feet. Its been 10 days since the last operational update so you would expect something early next week.
I agree Gretel 11 will be a quality well, we know the geology is better than Australia 11 plus the knowledge taken from the well construction and the amount of proponent will further improve its chances of success.
Abercrombie will be the one to watch if IP rates are released prior to Gretel. Even though Abercrombie is a longer lateral with approx 29 frac stages, other Montana wells like swindle with 20 frac stages had a IP rate of 1065 and averaged 400 Barrels for the first 30 days of production have been excelent producers.
