Balkans Gold Ltd (ASX:BNL) today noted it was one of 300 Western
Australian companies listed by Goldman Sachs JBWere as having shares put
up for sale following the collapse of stockbroker Opes Prime.
"Balkans directors do not know whether any shares in the company
fall within this category," executive director Mr Scott Douglas said.
"There are 35,000 shares in the company held in a particular ANZ
Nominees account.
"If those shares were held on account with that broker, in the
opinion of Balkans directors the sale of those shares will not adversely
affect the share price of the company if they are sold into the market
by Goldman Sachs JBWere," Mr Douglas said.
