Expensive gas is a toxic cost to many Australian manufacturers.
Under Australia's constitution, we the people, through the agency of government, own all resources. The failure of successive governments to assert this ownership through domestic reservation is a self-inflicted wound of boundless stupidity.
WA does this, without harm to its major gas export industry.

IPL makes explosives and fertilisers essential to Australia's well being. It can only buy gas on onerous terms. Time for the Morrison Government to adjust policy, not mouth platitudes about post-CV-19 rebuilding. JJ is not asking for protectionism, merely that government put the interests of its citizens and industrial base ahead of the gas oligarchy.
