As of December 2020, renewable production generated 40.2% of total electricity produced in the UK; around 6% of total UK energy usage.
At least 12% of that was biomass which puts out more CO2 than coal and is premised as renewable as it may grow again in 40 years . In the meantime valuable forests like Romanian ones are being denuded for quick profit.
Iceland are lucky to have hydro and geothermal and such a small population . No wind and of course no solar.
Renewable energy provided almost 100% of electricity production, with about 73% coming from hydropower and 27% from geothermal power.
Paraguay of course hydro as its renewables.
And it goes on .
Until batteries become much more energy dense and longer lasting wind and solar can`t cut it.
