Mogul seems to be the most advanced tournament hosting platform for aoe2 at the moment, however, there are other upcoming aoe2 tournament hosting platforms that could compete with mogul. For example, a well known tournament organizer from Australia called robo_boro is creating a platform called quiver.gg, which will be made in collaboration with capture age and other established aoe2 tournament organizers. This would have more connections to the aoe2 community than mogul and would probably be more integrated into the game since it will be made with the capture age team, who are also about to release a product on steam that will be an upgrade to the current in-game aoe2 spectator mode. Anyway, it is in alpha at the moment, so we will see how it develops in the coming months.
Like Aussie said, the Asia Cup is a bit of a joke in the community because there are only 2 or 3 pro players in it, but it is also important to remember that their model is based on attracting the intermediate / noob players.
