It is one of the human biases that he explores when he describes how human decision-making is not entirely based on rational thought - side note his book Thinking Fast and Slow is a fantastic read.

If I asked everyone who is following MYR to forget the narrative and look purely at the numbers they would all buy in a flurry. But of course we do not want that to happen all the times as that means value contrarian buys like MYR would never exist.
