True that a lower price is good for retail holders in the SPP.
However, with each entitlement only worth $15k max, it is not being manipulated downwards by anybody.
Below $1 and there is no point retail holders selling to use the cash to participate in the SPP - risk too high that the VWAP is lower than what you sell the shares for.
Thus, genuine reasons for SP falling to these levels (whether justified or not is another story). Also whether these share prices are LT or ST is also questionable.
Good fundamentals (company specific and macro) as well as a good growth story should see TFC rebound strongly in due course.
I have bought a lot more at around $1.01 and will see if I have made the correct ST judgement here.
