SILEX UPDATE PRESENTATION - 18th November 2014
Two Concentrating Photovoltaic (CPV) Dish Solar Power Stations built and operated:
- Mildura, Australia (~1.5MW, 40 dishes) opened in July 2013
- Solar Systems is exploring additional options to further develop the site and other potential sites in Australia
- Nofa Resort, Saudi Arabia (~1MW, 28 dishes) completed in April 2014*
- Saudi Arabia is a key emerging market with plans to invest heavily in solar energy - $US109 billion program to help replace domestic oil consumption
Mildura (Stage 2) - Victoria, Australia - ~100 MW - 2,000 Dishes
CANCELLED --------------------------- Is this why? 2,000 Dishes = 57+ MW?) According to Nofa Resort, above, (~1MW = 28 Dishes – Same technology, correct?) Therefore, Mildura (Stage 2) would need 2,800 dishes. Yet, even with 2,800 Dishes, output would only be ~80 MW (See performance optimization below).
*Nofa Resort (see above)
Completed April 2014 – performance optimized with plant re-rated to ~0.8MW nominal output (Revealed in 20th February 2015 Presentation)
