Downplaying this situation is quite naive. Sure the death rate is low at the moment, but that's because you can still get medical care. What then when the hospitals are at capacity and are having to turn people away?
Worst case scenario they are talking about 60% of the population in Aus will be effected, with a death rate of 0.02% currently (with hospital care) that's still 300,000 fellow Australians dead. If that same worst case scenario is applied to the US (who are currently struggling with containment), that's 4.2M dead.
Not saying we should be panicked, but we need to take this very seriously.
