I am not suggesting being ignorant, far from it in fact, just more selective in in what bits of information I choose to place 100% faith in. Generally statements by a company about its own activities are the least useful in making investment decisions. Statements by a company's customers are far more useful in determining future success.
There are plenty of companies out there that have given great detail to shareholders about their activities while their value declines because they ignored their core business.
