Interesting commentary...booking a rig is always heart stopping monent, but these days if you don't book well ahead, there are a bunch of long lead time items that can bite you and cause more expense than you bargined for...
the game is to try to farmout with a modicum of decorum, and hope that you have a good technical story, and you attaract bids from sensible companies with real money...not start-ups with golden tonsil spruikers with a few $$ seed cap and not much else... then there is the 11:59 pm types that will watch the company sweat with no bites at the farmout and then offer a bargin basement bail-out before deadline to drill or drop.
I'm going to leave my RIA in the shoebox, and forget I ever bought them. I would say to the G&G people that RIA has definintly been a career staining move, and I would doubt that any would list RIA on their CV's.
