EU gives FCfa 6.6 billion to strengthen the implementation of funded projects in Cameroon
Business in Cameroon) - The Cameroonian government and the European Union delegation (EU) in Cameroon just signed a financing agreement for FCfa 6.6 billion. This funding provided as part of the “Technical Cooperation Facility (FCT)”, we learned, will enable to strengthen the implementation of projects funded by the EU in Cameroon.
In practical terms, the two sides explain, these funds from the 11th EDF will be used to carry out feasibility studies and finance technical assistance in the framework of projects financed by the EU; to finance the operation of the support unit to the EDF payment mandate issuer and to carry out communication actions to enhance the visibility of EU actions in Cameroon. “The partners estimated that it was necessary to highlight not only the expertise, but also the information. Hence financing for communication”, explained Aliou Abdoullahi, National Coordinator of the Support Unit to the EDF National Payment Mandate Issuer.
