Here's a clue about Gas Desorption testing.
The sample is stored in a cannister and the release of gas is monitored.
Only when the gas release has slowed down, is the sample further tested (i.e. some of it is then crushed.)
If the sample is still releasing gas at a particular level, they wouldn't stop the testing at that stage.
They WILL continue testing until the last possible amount of gas is collected. Crushing then releases the final amount "stuck" in the coal.
A delay in the report - could be associated with higher readings of gas that haven't slowed significantly.
My opinion only - I hope I am correct.
