Firstly this is a very sad situation that I sincerely trust has a positive outcome. I have no knowledge in the mining industry, (so perhaps I'm miles off the mark here) BUT it seems to me that if the gases are still exuding from the mine and fire is still apparently prevalent, WHEN is it going to be safe to commence any rescue mission? Surely there will have to be a time when there has to be a serious attempt to retrieve the unfortunate workers no matter what there condition. It is beyond me that in the coal mining industry when the presence of inflammable gases are always going to one of the major risks and hazards, that equipment or methodology of personnel recovery in the event of an accident does not exist beyond what we are presently seeing. I refuse to believe there is no other way to conduct this rescue. I can only say it must be very frustrating for the relatives and workmates who must be standing by feeling helpless.

I will maintain hope this turns out for the best.
