I am totally shocked at the news - I can't imagine what it must be like underground in total darkness (except for the torches on their hats) and not knowing what is happening.
It must be even worse for their poor families and friends as they have to face all the uncertainties.
One bit of hopeful news I read, was a comment:
"The blast happened at 3.45pm and the last contact with any of the trapped miners was lost at 4.15pm, Mr Brownlee said."
This means that they were in contact with the miners after the blast which meant that they did survive the initial explosion.
I know that a methane explosion uses up most of the oxygen but apparently they do have oxygen stations where they can wait. Lets hope there is good news tomorrow :-)
