My son, "living in my basement" is amazingly well informed. There must be a lot of well informed people on a chat site he frequents.

He said the AN was on a ship with a name like MV Rhouse which had mechanical troubles and pulled into Beirut in 2014. The owners went bust and the ship was slowly sinking so they unloaded the AN as a lien on port dues, and it has simply sat there since. Simple bureaucratic bungling to leave such a dangerous cargo lay around.

But somehow Israel and Trump will be dragged into it.
