Beston Global Food Company will export its first shipment of 20kg blocks of cheese to Singapore this month, as its Murray Bridge production facility ramps up to its busiest rate yet.
The facility is being expanded, with plans for a new mozzarella plant to be built later this year.
Beston chairman Dr Roger Sexton said the Murray Bridge facility was now producing significant volumes of premium quality cheese using milk sourced from the company's own farms.
"We will be looking to boost this still further during the year as overseas orders ramp up, new equipment is added to the plant and we expand our range of dairy products too meet overseas demand," he said.
"The shipment of 20 tonnes of cheddar and gouda cheeses for Facto Asia in Singapore (was) packed (last week) for use across the ASEAN market.
"it will be followed days later with a shipment of 16 tonnes of romano and pepato cheeses bound for Malta, a continuing contract from 2016."
