I'd very much prefer to allocate some of the (assumed) windfall philanthropically myself rather than hand over what could be millions to the ATO so our Fed Govt can piss it against the wind.
We invest with our post tax $....we take on the risk and then we cop a massive success penalty.
Wouldn't mind so much if the Feds allocated appropriately- we're blessed here in Aus to live the way we do and I believe in supporting others less fortunate through reasonable taxation.....but fcuk me it stings when I see how poorly our tax revenue is spent.
