Sometimes people just want to sell to raise money in a hurry.
Other shares might be having their big news event right now rather than shortly and they don't want to miss out.
The oppies will be very sad if the market crashes and between China/Trump, housing bubbles and Brexit maybe the perceived risk is higher than normal.
BUT the oppies will be extremely bright for holders if things progress well here in the absence of a crash.
