    Wrong! :)

SILEX is a new technique using lasers to separate isotopes more efficiently and cheaply. Current technology uses centrifuges to separate the lighter U235 isotope from the heavier U238 isotope. It's the U235 that is needed for reactors, at an enrichment level of about 5%.

While enrichment is cheaper and easier, the same amount of uranium will be required to produce a given amount of energy. Silex hasn't changed the laws of physics.

There is some speculation that hitherto depleted stockpiles could be run through the SILEX process to extract further U235 that was missed in earlier extraction processes using centrifuges. However depleted uranium doesn't have very much U235 left in it, so it is unlikely to have a significant effect on the uranium market, at least for several decades.

It is easier to dig up fresh uranium from the ground which has far more U235 in it than to try squeezing the last lot out of depleted stockpiles. Of course, if uranium becomes scarce and the price is forced higher, this could become economically attractive. We are several decades away from that, I suspect.

While SLX is an interesting stock, IMO there will be no effect on uranium supply nor on EXT for years to come.
