R.F had the MD of Teck buy a hunk (~20%) to hold on to until he was sure he could get the best price - then, and only then, Teck sold. helped pay for the development of Red Dog. He secretly dealt with Falconbridge, Inco, WMC and anyone else. Pushed and prodded. Then used one to bid against each other. Have to read "The Big Score: Robert Friedland, INCO, And The Voisey's Bay Hustle". R.F. doesn't like it - but very, very true. Very interesting anecdote regarding R.F. and Steve Jobs - and the infamous shoe banging incident.
Promise you will not look at him in the same way again. Nor would you trust him…
