Hi Stalktock, I actually think you raise some good points. While the Carmichael project may not have relevance to ECT, why wouldn't you be talking to one of the biggest miners in the world about the potential of mining other areas for what would be a black coal equivalent.
Lignite is cheaper to mine than black coal (apparently) and if the numbers stack up after processing through a coldry process, it would make sense to open some dialogue with a company which is in the business of mining and selling coal.
Perhaps this has already been considered and perhaps this dialogue has already taken place but determine not feasible. Who knows, but definitely worth discussing on a forum while we have plenty of time to wait
