The extended closing date may be a harbinger of some good exploration results to come in the very near future. Their comprehensive December 29th exploration update referenced drilling was currently underway ( December and January) and it would appear if the results are as good as previous hits and overall expectations that this could give a reasonable boost to the resource size. Maybe the extension is to give adequate time for receipt of the results from the labs.
Any positive sentiment arising from these anticipated results will give added impetus to shareholders taking up the offer.
