Rio Tinto are rumoured to be considering Allkem as a takeover target, but given that Rio Tinto already owns the only mine in the USA producing Boric Acid (to my knowledge), a takeover of Ioneer might be seen as compelling way into Spodumene miming in the USA. Maybe they will wait for Ioneer to be given the environmental greenlight.
