Tiehm’s Buckwheat could be like the Wollemi Pine. It was only known from fossils until a remnant of less than 100 living specimens were found in an inaccessible gully west of Sydney in 1994. As a result of a serious campaign, it’s been spread around the world - I recently recognised a sapling happily growing in Kew Gardens, London - and its survival seems to be assured (for the foreseeable future anyway). Let’s do the same for Tiehm’s Buckwheat and then get on with replacing fossil fuels before they kill us all.
